Microban active ingredients are incorporated into the polymer structure during the manufacturing process of the plastic product. Upon contact of microorganism such as bacteria and fungus, the Microban ingredient penetrates cell wall of the microorganism.
Then, it disrupts cell functions making the microorganism unable to function, grow and reproduce.
Over a 24-hour period, bacteria on the plastic surface protected with Microban (LEFT) was reduced to almost nothing (one hundred thousand to one thousand) while the unprotected surface (RIGHT) increased by one million times (one hundred thousand to one hundread billion).
